Quiet Mountain Romance + Candlelit Celebration | Brea + Butler’s Ridge Rose Venue Wedding in North Georgia

An Intimate Candlelit Wedding at Ridge Rose Venue Wedding in North Georgia

If you’ve come across my website or social media headers anytime since September of 2023, chances are you’ve already seen Brea and Butler. Their exit from their wedding at Ridge Rose Venue is still one of my absolute favorites. When I first saw that moment on the back of my camera, I remember thinking it looked like something straight out of a magazine and that I had captured the kind of effortless joy that makes a photograph feel timeless.

Just married. B+B walk back down the aisle at Ridge Rose Venue surrounded by cheering friends and family, with the North Georgia mountains stretching out behind them.

But what I remember most about their wedding day isn’t just how beautiful everything looked.

What stayed with me was how it all FELT. B+B were intentional about designing a day full of care for the people they love. From the moment guests began arriving, the atmosphere felt calm, welcoming, and full of warmth. Instead of waiting hours to see the couple, Butler stood there waiting for guests as they arrived with his familiar million-dollar smile and open arms. TRULY the best welcome to a wedding I have ever witnessed.

One of the things B+B were most intentional about was creating space for their people to actually enjoy being together. From hugs and laughter to candlelit tables and cocktail hour bites, the entire afternoon felt relaxed, welcoming, and full of the kind of conversations that make a wedding feel like a true gathering of the people who matter most.

Friends greeted each other with long hugs, family members lingered in conversation, and there was a quiet sense that everyone there truly mattered to the couple. No invitation felt like an afterthought.

One of my favorite parts of the day is watching all the different generations show up to celebrate together. From little ones soaking in the excitement to quiet moments between parents and grandparents, these are the interactions that make a wedding feel like more than an event - they make it feel like family.

Ridge Rose Venue provided the perfect setting for their celebration.

The ceremony space at Ridge Rose was beautifully designed by the team at Ramblewood Events, who blended soft florals with the natural mountain setting in a way that felt elegant, timeless, and perfectly at home on the property. Every detail, from the ceremony florals to the thoughtfully arranged space for guests, felt intentional without ever taking attention away from the moment itself.

Nestled in the mountains of North Georgia, the property feels peaceful and tucked away, with ceremony views that stretch out over the trees and reception spaces that glow warmly as the evening sets in. The team at Ramblewood Events designed the day beautifully, blending elegant florals with the natural surroundings in a way that felt both timeless and relaxed.

Ridge Rose has one of those ceremony views that immediately makes people pause for a moment. With the mountains stretching out behind the altar and the reception space glowing warmly nearby, the setting feels peaceful and tucked away. The team at Ramblewood Events carried that same feeling throughout the day, designing a space that felt elegant, natural, and perfectly in harmony with the surroundings.

Every detail of the day felt thoughtful without ever feeling overdone, which is the kind of balance that lets the people and the moments remain the focus.

The ceremony space overlooked the mountains, framed by soft florals designed by Ramblewood Events and warm string lights stretching through the trees. It was simple, elegant, and perfectly suited for the kind of heartfelt ceremony B+B had planned.

Before the ceremony began, the property slowly filled with the people who have shaped Brea and Butler’s lives.

As guests arrived, the property slowly filled with familiar faces and warm reunions. Friends hugged, family gathered for photos, and the quiet excitement of the day started to build. Inside, the final details were coming together - the Groom's suit waiting patiently on its hanger, florals placed carefully throughout the space, and a few quiet moments before the celebration truly began.

Inside the house, the morning felt calm and unhurried as Brea finished getting ready surrounded by one furry being, in particular, that's quite important to her.

There’s something about the quiet moments before a ceremony that always feels a little magical. While the final touches were coming together, Brea took a few peaceful minutes upstairs getting ready - sharing a sweet moment with one very important guest who clearly wasn’t going to miss the day.

One of the things I loved most about their ceremony was how personal and relaxed it felt. I will never forget them walking out to "Cherish" by Kool & The Gang and thinking, "Okay... These are clients who must turn into friends."

When B+B stepped outside for the ceremony, they weren’t alone. One very loyal guest proudly made the walk with them, leading the way toward a celebration surrounded by the people who love them most. And in one of the best wedding song choices of all time, the couple made their entrance to “Cherish” by Kool & The Gang.

Standing beneath a floral arch overlooking the mountains, Brea and Butler exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends in a ceremony performed by the Groom's brother while the couple's dog rested quietly nearby.

Standing beneath the mountain view and surrounded by the people who know them best, B+B exchanged vows in a ceremony that felt heartfelt, relaxed, and deeply personal. They laughed through so much of it — the kind of laughter that makes you think this is probably how they move through life together.

It was simple, heartfelt, and full of the kind of emotion that makes you feel like you’re witnessing something deeply meaningful rather than just watching an event unfold. Moments like that are exactly why I love photographing weddings. I get to stand quietly in the background as a storyteller documenting the very beginning of a new family. It’s something that matters deeply to me, because I live the importance of marriage every day of my own life.

While B+B exchanged vows beneath the trees, one very important guest settled in nearby to keep watch. Calm, loyal, and clearly part of the family, their pup quietly witnessed every moment of the ceremony.

Moments like that are why I love documenting weddings the way I do.

With the mountains stretching out behind them and the people they love gathered close, B+B stood beneath the floral arch and began the promises that would shape the rest of their lives together.

As soon as the ceremony ended, the celebration truly began.

And just like that -They are husband and wife! With cheers from their guests and the mountains stretching out behind them, B+B made their way back down the aisle, stepping into the celebration that had been waiting for them all day.

Guests gathered around the couple for hugs and congratulations, laughter filled the air, and the entire energy of the day shifted from anticipation to pure joy. Some of my favorite photographs from the day happened right then. What I really loved about this wedding, in particular, is that the joy from the ceremony felt as if it just spilled over the entire day. They both laughed the whole way through their ceremony, and I can't help but think that's how they go through life... and it makes me so very happy. :)

The joy from the ceremony didn’t end at the altar. It spilled out into hugs, laughter, and little moments all around the celebration — the kind that remind you a wedding day is really about the people who show up to share it with you.

Before the evening celebration began, we stepped aside for a few family portraits, and this part of the day ended up being one of my favorites. Family photos at weddings sometimes get treated like a checklist, but B+B understood something really special: when multiple generations come together in one place, those moments deserve a little space to breathe.

Some of the most meaningful photographs from a wedding day are the ones that include the people who helped shape the couple long before the wedding ever arrived. Moments like these — parents, siblings, and even a few little ones — become the photographs families treasure most as the years go by.

Instead of rushing through the portraits, we gave everyone a little space to interact with each other, and that’s when the magic moments started happening.... And those moments make photographs feel alive.

One of my favorite parts of wedding portraits is watching generations come together. Grandparents, siblings, little ones, and even the family dog - these are the people who built the life that led to this moment. Weddings aren’t just about two people. They’re about the whole story that surrounds them.

Some of my favorite images from this part of the day came from simply letting people move, laugh, and be themselves. I find that people often skip over the family photos when they talk about their favorite moments from the day, but these… They make me emotional, even years later, because you can actually feel the relationships inside the frame. And that’s what family photographs should really be about.

As the evening settled in, the celebration shifted into something softer - candlelight, quiet conversation, and the warmth of everyone gathered around the table. It’s one of my favorite parts of a wedding day, when the pace slows and the joy of the moment really settles in.

As the evening moved into the reception, candlelight filled the room and the celebration carried on inside.

Dinner conversations stretched across the tables, music drifted through the space, and the night slowly turned into dancing and laughter under warm lights. One of the things I remember most, aside from an actual bread tower, was the sound of conversation buzzing throughout the room. My goal was to photograph the same energy I felt that evening - relaxed, joyful, and full of connection. It was the kind of reception where people linger simply because they don’t want the night to end.

By the time the music started, the dance floor filled quickly - friends, family, and a few guests who clearly came ready to celebrate. It’s always one of my favorite parts of the night, when the formalities fade and everyone simply enjoys being together.

But I should also mention the moment I almost had a heart attack, which was when I was surprised by the child hiding underneath the cake table. Luckily, no cake was harmed, and the child's mother laughed about it after explaining to not do it again. (But oh, how I laughed once I realized everything was fine!)

The evening ended the way the best weddings do - with music, laughter, and a dance floor full of people who didn’t want the night to end. Between cake, slow dances, and a few quiet moments in between, it was the kind of celebration that reminds you why gathering together matters so much.

Later in the evening, Brea and Butler stepped outside beneath the string lights for a quiet moment together.

One last dance beneath the string lights, long after the ceremony chairs had emptied. Just B+B, a quiet moment, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the music fades.

It’s always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day — when the celebration softens and the couple finally gets a moment to breathe together after everything that has happened. I'm a strong advocate for a private last dance or even just a small, simple moment like this at the end of your wedding day.

The night carried on with laughter, dancing, and a few spontaneous moments that no timeline could ever plan. These are the photographs couples end up loving most - the real ones, the joyful ones, the ones that show what the celebration actually felt like.

The laughter keeps going, the music keeps playing, and the night keeps moving. But every now and then, they find each other in the middle of it all... And I have a feeling it always will be for these two.

As time goes on, I can see that there are some stylistic changes I've made, especially in editing and light, that I've made in the last four years, but there are a few that I say are 10/10 - no notes, and this is definitely one of them...

A quiet moment at the end of the night - just the two of them, the glow of the lights, and the feeling that the whole day has finally settled in.

And the story continues...

Perhaps my greatest flex as a wedding photographer is when couples become friends long after the wedding day. As I was writing this blog, Brea texted me to share that they’re expecting which means maternity photos are officially on the horizon. I couldn’t be more excited for them. My first thought was this photo right here, and I absolutely cannot wait to watch B+B step into their parent era. Love you both!!

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is that sometimes the story doesn’t end when the day is over. B+B’s next chapter is already beginning, and I can’t wait to see them step into their parent era.

XOXO, PIE
